One of our big challenges could've been figuring out what to do with Caldonia, our kitty. At first I figured that mom would take care of her, but mom's gonna be traveling in China during our trip, so that won't work. Then I thought that maybe Michelle, who loves cats and has checked in on Caldonia in the past when we were out of town, could take our kitty while we're gone. But there's already a cat in Michelle's flat, so that won't work.
In the end, Grandma and Uncle Jesse are going to take care of Caldonia for us. Grandma has had cats before (ask me about Huckleberry the horse-cat) and I know she'll love Caldonia. Grandma's old cat was very territorial and would scratch her almost every day. All Caldonia wants is some lovin'. I think they'll get along swimmingly. A big thanks go out to Grandma and especially to Jesse, who's going to have to do all the real work of caring for a cat!
We'll be heading down to Los Angeles in two weeks to take Caldonia to Grandma's place and to help her get situated there.
